Get Toor Dal
Prepare mustard seeds
Take cumin seeds
Make ready coriander seeds

Instructions to make Tomato Rasam:
Heat up a pan on low heat and dry roast all the spices until nice aroma comes.(Toor dal, mustard seeds,cumin seeds,methi dana, coriander seeds,hing,curry leaves,red chillies,garlic & black pepper powder)
After cool down..Put them in a blender jar and make a course powder out of it.
Heat up a pan with 2 tbsp of oil.Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, few curry leaves, red chilli, 3 finely chopped garlic and Saute them for 30 sec.
Now add chopped Tomatoes as well as salt and haldi powder.Mash them with spatula and cook until get soft.
Now add 1/2 cup Tamarind water. Cover it and cook for 2 mins. Add prepared dry roast masala and mix well.
Now add 1 & 1/2 cup of water..let the water comes to a boil. Then add chopped coriander leaves with stems.
Mix and cook for 1 min. Then switch off the flame and serve hot with steam rice.
