Take - curd
Prepare - besan (gram flour)
Take - methi seeds
Get - curry leaves
Make ready - ghee
Get - green chilli
Prepare - ginger paste
Get - turmeric powder
Take - asafoetida
Get - cumin seeds
Prepare - finely chopped coriander
Make ready - salt
Take - sugar (optional)
Make ready For gole (chana dal balls)
Prepare - chana dal
Take - finely chopped coriander leaves
Prepare - coriander seed powder
Make ready - cumin seeds powder
Take - green chilli
Get - salt
Make ready - red chilli powder
Make ready cloves- garlic (optional)
Steps to make Kadhi gole:
Rinse the chana dal well and soaked for 5 to 6 hours.
Drain the water and transfer it to the mixer bowl. Add coriander, green chilli, salt, coriander seed powder, cumin seed powder, turmeric, red chilli powder, ginger and garlic(optional).
Grind coarsely. Don’t add water while grinding.
Now take out in a mixing bowl. Mix well and make medium size ball. Keep aside.
Take a curd in a vessel. Add 3 cup water and whisk it. Make a thin consistency butttermilk.
Now add gram flour, ginger paste, salt, sugar, curry leaves.mix well. Make sure there are no lumps in it. Whisk it again.
Now heat the vessel on low medium flame. Keep stirring occasionally.
Once the kadhi start boiling add chana dal balls(gole) into it at regular interval.
Once the balls are cooked it will start floating on kadhi. Let it cook for 6 to 8 minutes.
Now take a small pan. Add ghee. Add methi seeds,cumin seeds, then add green chilli, turmeric powder,asafoetida.
Switch off the gas. Add this tempering to the kadhi.
Kadhi gole is ready to serve. Serve with hot rice or chapati.
While eating separate this ball. Break it. Add tempering on it and eat it with roti or rice.
